I updated firmware to latest version (before having issues.worked fine after.for awhile), reset to factory defaults, etc. I troubleshooted for about 16 hours, rechecking all variables, researching internet forums.just trying to discover the issue. No interference, no external issues whatsoever. I have my pc about 5 feet from it with open air between. Now, when I say it worked for 2 weeks, I mean to say that the 5ghz "chip" worked for 2 weeks before dying. Therefore, I purchase the TP-Link Archer AC1900 Smart WiFi Router (Archer C9). But, I knew I needed a up-to-date/faster router that could handle higher speed and multiple clients.

So, I decided to just buy some PCI-e Wireless Adapters (also tp-link) for all my desktops and just go full wireless. Also, I'm still use CAT5e so the wireless nowadays is actually faster than my LAN. I previously had wired LAN all pc's, but just got tired of having to troubleshoot (rarely) and wanted to avoid the (future) installation of more wire. When I purchased this router I made the decision to go full wireless at home. I also have the OOMA for home phone, as stated before. We have a couple of gaming consoles, multiple computers, tablets, phones, a couple of smart tvs, etc. I use OOMA for phone, I have dedicated servers set up, I use mac-address static routing, etc. Ease of installation, advanced features were pretty nice. When I got this router, I really liked it. I bought this sucker because I'm a huge fan of TP Link.
